The Farmers Insurance Group has ranked the Greater Binghamton area as among the most secure cities in the country.
The Farmers Insurance Group has ranked the Greater Binghamton area as among the most secure cities in the country. The area was ranked the 11th-most secure city with populations between 150,000 and 500,000. The City of Binghamton has only about 40,000 people, but the metropolitan area has about 250,000 residents.
The rankings, compiled by www.bestplaces.net, took into consideration crime statistics, extreme weather, risk of natural disasters, environmental hazards, terrorism threats, air quality, life expectancy and job loss numbers.
